WEDGE: A wedge is a modification of an inclined plane that moves . It
is made of two inclined planes put together. Instead of the resistance being
moved up an inclined plane, the inclined plane moves the resistance.
ACTIVITY:What happens when the wedge is pushed between
the stack of books?
Materials:
four hard covered books
a wedge
a tabletop
1. Stack the books on the tabletop vertically.
2. Place the tip of the wedge between the second and third books.
3. Push the wedge between the books.
